Euro Markets: Soaring power prices pull carbon higher after nuclear outages tighten French market

EUAs were relatively rangebound in early Thursday trading as the market waited for news from Brussels, where EU leaders are discussing how to react to high energy costs and Poland is expected to propose intervention in the EU ETS.

EUAs jumped in hectic afternoon trading as power and gas prices surged after shutdowns at two French nuclear power plants tightened electricity markets.
