A veteran emissions broker has joined the London office of Schneider Trading Associates (STA) after parting ways with Tullett Prebon.

Deux Hovingh, who had worked with Tullett Prebon since 2009, left the firm last autumn and last week joined STA, a broker facilitation business.

After some thought following his departure from Tullett Prebon, Hovingh said he “decided to go it on his own” and is now working with former colleague and ex-Prebon director Richard Wilson and his company Hot Options, which is also operated under the STA umbrella, to provide an enhanced service for clients.

Hovingh, who also brokered power for GFI between 2001-2006, said he will deal carbon futures and options initially, but may move into coal at some point in the future.

According to its website, STA helps brokers build their own businesses by providing trading licences and access to services and other infrastructure.
