ICE to continue hosting UK carbon auctions through 2017

ICE Futures Europe has been appointed by the UK government to continue hosting carbon allowance auctions on behalf of the country until at least Nov. 2017, the London-based emissions exchange said on Wednesday.

ICE Futures Europe has been appointed by the UK government to continue hosting carbon allowance auctions on behalf of the country until at least Nov. 2017, the London-based emissions exchange said on Wednesday.

The bourse currently hosts fortnightly auctions for spot EUAs on behalf of the government, as well as managing the country’s EUAA sales.

ICE Futures Europe was first appointed by Britain’s Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) in 2012 to host the UK auctions from 2012 until the end of 2015.
