EU nations closer to finding consensus on “increasing” 2030 climate target

The 27-nation European Council is willing to find a compromise with poorer EU countries in order to agree a 2030 emissions reduction target of 55% by year-end, according to the summit's conclusions released Thursday evening, as some previously reluctant governments warm to the idea.
