Brokers Tradition has launched an expanded ‘green’ business hub that allows its clients to trade all of the firm’s environmental products on one platform.

Tradition Green brings together the firm’s environmental market offerings including carbon, biofuels, and renewable energy certificates, as well as its newly-launched biomass, wood chip and wood pellet brokering services, said Lucy Mortimer, who handles business development for Tradition’s energy and environmental markets.

Mortimer, who in 2001 became one of the first brokers in EU carbon market, rejoined Tradition on a part-time basis last September after leaving the firm in 2010 to focus on other areas including environmental consulting and furniture design.

She also in the mid-2000s oversaw the launch of Tradition’s previous carbon market service TFS Green, which specialised in the CDM and JI markets.

Tradition Green will also offer brokering in US carbon markets including RGGI and California, as well as consultancy services within the environmental markets and project finance for new renewable energy projects in Europe, in co-ordination with its London-based affiliate AllMerus Energy.
