Emissions bourse ICE Futures Europe has brought forward the expiry date for its Apr. 2015 EU Aviation Allowance (EUAA) futures in order to give buyers more time to prepare for this year’s EU ETS compliance deadline.

The Apr-15 EUAA futures will now expire on April 20 instead of April 27, the bourse said in a circular to members.

The contract settled at €6.77 on Tuesday.

Under EU rules, airlines covered by the ETS will this year have to surrender allowances to cover their emissions for both 2013 and 2014.
