Margaret Ann Splawn, a London-based carbon markets veteran, remains unconscious in hospital after a cycling accident two months ago.

Margaret Ann suffered a significant head injury on Aug. 19 and was airlifted to King’s College Hospital in London, where she remains in the critical care unit, according to a Facebook post by her partner Roger.

“To date she has had numerous operations, some life-saving, and remains under their expert and wonderful care,” he wrote on Saturday.

Following some recent progress in Margaret Ann’s condition, Roger added in an earlier Oct. 17 update: “I hope we have turned a corner again, these are very small steps but in the right direction again. We take every little win and remain strong and positive.”

Margaret Ann is currently a sustainability industry advocate at Microsoft, advising the tech giant on its net zero goals including those relating to voluntary carbon markets.

She is also a private-sector observer to the Green Climate Fund, an advisor to the Climate Markets and Investment Association (CMIA), and she sits on the Energy, Climate Change and Resource Efficiency Task Force of the Business Twenty (B20) – the official dialogue channel with the business community during India’s G20 presidency this year.

Prior to these roles, MAS, as she’s affectionately known by many in the industry, was head of sales at carbon markets consultancy and risk management firm Redshaw Advisors and a carbon trader at DASCO Partners.

Her family has created a page on Caring Bridge where her friends and colleagues can get updates on her condition, while a separate GoFundMe page was started following requests to donate towards her recovery.
