We have a company in the yard that is pursuing ambitious commercialization goals in the dynamic carbon industry. They are seeking a Head of Carbon with expertise in carbon market incentives, mechanisms, and policies to lead our efforts. This role involves navigating a changing regulatory and financial landscape to execute complex commercial agreements and advance global climate solutions.
Specifically, the Head of Carbon will:
Manage the company’s carbon products from start to finish – taking a holistic view incorporating regulatory landscapes, market opportunities, legal restrictions, customer feedback, and finances to develop and execute on a strategy to maximize and access carbon market sales and revenue.
Secure further carbon removal off-takes and work with appropriate accreditation and value chain partners to execute revenue-generating carbon sequestration transactions.
Work with the executive team to secure pilot and development agreements with commercial partners.
Develop a comprehensive carbon strategy built on a deep understanding of specific carbon storage products and geared towards positioning the company for long-term growth, profitability, and compliance.
Keep executive team, board, and high-profile customers abreast of developments in carbon markets and relevant policy landscape with detailed and informed research and customer and regulatory relationship management.
Build and manage carbon team, taking responsibility for team deliverables and professional development
Who you are
Experienced in carbon transactions, policies, and financing in domestic and international landscapes, with > 5 years of experience in a relevant role and industry.
An outstanding communicator (verbal and written; colloquial and technical). You can use these skills to succinctly convey the company’s values to a range of carbon stakeholders for market-relevant outcomes, including commercial agreements, financial assets, and legal decisions.
You possess excellent analytical ability allowing them to interpret quantitative and qualitative documents communicating financial and legal information.
Details & compensation
This is a full-time role based in our office in Brooklyn.
Salary between $120,000 – $160,000 depending on experience, plus generous stock options.
