The Head of Global Operations is a key role in the international leadership team, leading the strategic design, implementation and execution of ATEC’s value chain for its next phase of growth across the Global South. This will include supply chain management, overseeing country operations and enabling customer success. The Head of Global Operations will lead a team of senior managers and carbon project leads across the Global South as well as collaborating with our international team across functions.

ATEC exists to decarbonise cooking for all households across the Global South with our patented IoT eCook stoves. 4 billion people across Asia & Africa still lack access to modern cooking – generating 1 gigaton of emissions, more than the global airline industry. ATEC’s patented IoT technology means usage data is converted into 100% data-verified carbon credits – a global first for the sector. ATEC is now expanding across Asia & Africa – working with last-mile distributors and net-zero partners to decarbonise cooking at scale.

The Head of Global Operations is a key role in the international leadership team, leading the strategic design, implementation and execution of ATEC’s value chain for its next phase of growth across the Global South. This will include supply chain management, overseeing country operations and enabling customer success. The Head of Global Operations will lead a team of senior managers and carbon project leads across the Global South as well as collaborating with our international team across functions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Global Operations

  • Formulate the global operations strategy for optimal success across functions and geographies, including supply chain, country and customer success strategies
  • Lead implementation of the global operations strategy, executing on delivery of our value proposition
  • Lead relationships with operational partners (including manufacturers, distributors, importers etc) across multiple markets in Asia, Africa and other emerging markets to achieve business targets
  • Serve as the link from product/technology to carbon credits, by ensuring product is manufactured, procured and delivered to customers efficiently and effectively
  • Oversight over systems management including operations management software, CRM and inventory management systems

Supply Chain

  • Oversee supply chain of ATEC, including overseas manufacturing and procurement, fulfillment of inventory requirements and distribution
  • Leadership of supply chain personnel to ensure effective and efficient implementation of supply chain strategy
  • Manage international manufacturing supply chains, originating in India and China in particular

Country Operations

  • Oversee operations in carbon project countries, including product distribution, service and general country operations
  • Manage country coordination staff across countries in the Global South where ATEC has and is setting up market presence

Customer Success

  • Oversee Customer Success, Customer Relationships and Engagement in order to achieve usage targets across the Global South
  • Oversee Usage Optimization to ensure key business goals are met on an ongoing basis

General Organisational Operations

  • Develop key tools and resources to standardise ATEC’s operations across distributors, partners and own subsidiaries
  • Oversee the management of key operational systems and processes

Scope and build out teams within ATEC’s global operations aligned with ATEC’s growth as funding is secured

Leadership

  • Manage, coach and mentor the Global Operations team and members of the ATEC team more broadly
  • Represent ATEC in partner, funder and external stakeholder platforms, as well as internal board and team forums
  • Serve as a key member of the international leadership team, contributing to the formulation, implementation and execution of ATEC’s overall strategy, monitoring and problem-solving for challenges to achieving our goal
  • Support governance through joining Board & Committee meetings with CFO & CEO

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • 10+ years of proven experience in managing and growing international operations, including 5+ years of leadership experience
  • Tertiary Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field
  • Prior experience in start-up/scaling up company
  • Prior experience in a global, distributed team work environment
  • Experience in managing international supply chains, including manufacturing in Asia and distribution processes
  • Experience in project management in a global environment
  • Experience in driving day-to-day operational excellence

SKILLS

  • Ability to design strategy and execute it to achieve business targets
  • Strong contract negotiation, supplier management, and logistics optimization skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Proficient in operations management software, CRM and inventory management systems (Hubspot and Cin7 a plus)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across cultures and geographies.
  • Excellent English communication skills, written and oral
