A senior carbon and energy trader has joined Swiss-based trading house Vitol after leaving BTG Pactual’s London office.

Nima Neelakandan joined Vitol’s Geneva office this month as a cross commodity trader, according to his LinkedIn profile and two sources with knowledge of the matter.

Neelakandan had been a cross energy fund portfolio manager for Brazil-headquartered BTG since Nov. 2013, and head of carbon at Barclays before that.

Attempts to reach Neelakandan and press contacts at Vitol and BTG were not immediately successful.
