California’s Air Resource Board handed out more than 68,000 offsets in its latest issuance, with all of the credits going to four new livestock projects.
The allocation was the smallest since last December and increased the overall number of offsets issued by the state by just 0.2% to 39.58 million.
Two batches of more than 22,000 units each went to two compliance projects, while the remainder went to two facilities run by Maple Leaf Dairy, Inc., according to data published by ARB on Wednesday.
In addition, nearly 57,700 offsets issued to a dairy livestock project operated by Camco Interntional Group had their invalidation timeframe chopped to three years from eight, meaning the vast majority of them will lost their invalidation risk next year.
