The Global Head of Carbon Sales will report to the Global Commercial Director. This role will oversee the development of a pipeline for carbon credit buyers, including preparing marketing materials, initiating and supporting sales conversations, and closing both spot and future carbon credit sales.

Your mission at Sistema.bio:

The Global Head of Carbon Sales will report to the Global Commercial Director. This role will oversee the development of a pipeline for carbon credit buyers, including preparing marketing materials, initiating and supporting sales conversations, and closing both spot and future carbon credit sales. This role also involves managing the emissions reductions inventory and collaborating closely with the Global Commercial Director to develop and refine the company’s carbon revenue strategy.

You’ll be in charge of:

  • Developing and implementing a comprehensive carbon sales strategy.
  • Establishing Sistema.bio as a thought leader in the regenerative agriculture, biogas, and clean cooking sectors, and building a pipeline of high-potential buyers.
  • Identifying, cultivating, and negotiating large, multi-year carbon deals with corporate and government buyers.
  • Collaborating with the Marketing and Communications and Carbon & Impact teams to tailor Sistema.bio’s carbon offerings and create marketing materials for prospective projects.
  • Partnering with the CFO to develop and analyze financial models for carbon revenue projections.
  • Overseeing market analyses of industry trends and client trading activity to optimize sales and pricing structures.

More about YOU:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Development, Sustainability, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of mid-senior level sales experience with a proven track record of consistent multi-year growth.
  • Deep understanding of carbon credit markets, including regulations, trends, pricing mechanisms, and familiarity with carbon offset standards, quality, and methodologies for carbon credit generation.
  • Capable of being a strategic partner for corporate clients in their sustainability and net-zero strategies.
  • Solid grasp of financial concepts related to carbon sales, such as revenue modeling, pricing strategies, and financial reporting.
  • Outgoing, approachable, and sociable personality, effective in ambiguous and varied settings.
  • Proven ability to foster a strong team culture and cultivate enduring relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Comfortable managing multiple priorities simultaneously, resilient in dynamic environments, and motivated to drive projects forward.
  • Fluency in both written and spoken English is required. Proficiency in French or German is a plus; Spanish is advantageous.

Other important details:

  • Location: This is a full-time remote position based in Europe or Kenya. If you are located in Kenya, you have the option to work from our Nairobi Office.
  • Travel: Expect to travel approximately 25% to 40% of your time for meetings with potential clients, partners, attending conferences, and collaborating with the team in the regions where Sistema.bio operates.
