The former head of fuel and carbon trading at Swiss utility Axpo has joined Czech state-owned CEZ to manage the energy conglomerate’s options trading desk.

Tobias Munk, who was also previously lead emissions trader at Germany’s E.ON Energy Trading, joined CEZ last month and is heading the company’s energy options trading desk, which includes emissions as well as oil, gas, power, and coal, according to his LinkedIn profile.

Munk left Axpo in 2014 to focus on a venture in the fast-moving consumer goods space.  However the endeavour was ultimately unsuccessful, ceasing operations within a year.

CEZ is the largest utility and biggest public company in central and eastern Europe, with the Czech government owning around 70% of its shares.
