Thomson Reuters has hired a former EDF Trading and BNEF analyst to cover North American carbon markets.
Thomas Marcello will work out of the firm’s Houston office and cover existing markets such as RGGI and WCI, as well as any new ones that may emerge, a source said.
In 2014, Marcello founded consultancy and research firm Environmental Market Models, and prior to that worked on environmental market analysis for energy trader EDF Trading and Bloomberg New Energy Finance (BNEF).
He replaces Ashley Lawson, who joined the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions (C2ES) in Washington DC earlier this year.
