Slovenia’s first emissions brokerage service was launched last week and has been cleared to trade on German bourse EEX, one of its founders told Carbon Pulse.

Ljubljana-headquartered Perspektiva d.d. is offering its clients access to the EU ETS, as well as to equity, fixed income and money markets, said Andrej Jez, who heads the investment house’s asset management and research divisions.

The public limited company has two emissions brokers on its desk including Jez, and is considering moving into power as well, he added.

Perspektiva joins emissions tradinghouse Belektron d.o.o, which launched a few years ago, as the few Slovenia-based firms to voluntarily participate in the EU ETS.

Perspektiva was last week approved to participate in carbon spot and futures trading and EUA auctions on EEX, the exchange said.
