The Gold Standard Foundation seeks a highly motivated individual to join our Standard Development team to lead the development of innovative and robust methodologies, with a focus on mitigation solutions under the energy scope. It is a full-time position responsible for working on methodology development and related work.

This is a remote position, only candidates that are already based in the UK, Germany or India will be considered

WHO WE ARE:

Gold Standard is a standards body and thought leader that promotes the best that can be achieved in climate and development projects. It was established in 2003 by WWF and other international NGOs as a best practice standard to ensure projects that reduced carbon emissions under the UN’s Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) also delivered sustainable development benefits. Today, our standard, ‘Gold Standard for the Global Goals’, allows climate and development initiatives within carbon markets, corporate supply chains, and sustainable finance to manage, measure and maximise their impacts toward the Net Zero ambition of the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

  • Lead development, review and approval of new methodologies and tools for carbon market, climate finance and corporate initiatives for energy scope
  • Lead development of tools, guiding materials for methodology users and technical inputs to standard development for methodology adoption
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, including discussion with methodology experts and advisory committee, gather feedback from methodology developers, users, subject matter experts and other stakeholders
  • Manage and establish relationships with subject matter experts for methodology development and review
  • Training/capacity development strategy
  • Identify emerging opportunities for new and innovative methodologies development and innovative technology-based solutions for standard/ methodology level adoptions
  • Identify emerging opportunities and contribute subject matter expertise/ business requirements to GS’s Standard digitization initiative

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • 7+ years of demonstrated technical expertise in emission reduction and renewable energy technologies, including implementation of sustainable energy solutions across solar, wind, hydropower, and biomass sectors.
  • Proven experience in energy efficiency projects, including industrial optimization, smart grid systems, and building management, with a focus on reducing energy-related emissions.
  • Strong knowledge of carbon markets, including CDM mechanisms, voluntary standards, and Paris Agreement frameworks.
  • Excellence in project management, with proven success in handling complex technical initiatives while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, particularly in managing diverse, international teams and expert networks.
  • Established connections within renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste management, and CDR technology networks, facilitating knowledge sharing and collaboration.
