Singapore-based Ginga’s chief trader in the Chinese carbon market is leaving the company at the end of the month, Carbon Pulse has learned.

Rob Chong joined Ginga just six months ago from analysts ICIS.

“I haven’t decided what to do next yet, but I hope to stay in carbon markets. I still have some opportunities to explore,” he told Carbon Pulse.

Chong has primarily been trading in the Shenzhen ETS, which Ginga has chosen as its first stop en route to more involvement in the Chinese market.

His departure will leave Ginga’s China carbon team at two members, who are focusing on the offset market.
