The CDM’s executive has elected two new chairs to head the board this year, the UN’s climate change secretariat announced by email on Tuesday.
Peru’s Eduardo Calvo, a professor at San Marcos University in Lima and advisor to the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has been promoted to CDM-EB chair from his role as vice-chair, which he held over the past year.
He replaces outgoing CDM-EB chair Lambert Schneider of Germany.
Meanwhile, Frank Wolke, also from Germany and the head of section for emissions reductions projects at the country’s emissions trading authority DEHSt, takes over as vice-chair.
The pair will serve until the board’s first meeting of 2017.
