The UN’s climate change secretariat on Friday warned participants in the CDM to expect “unavoidable delays” in the processing of administrative actions including payments, due to UN-wide system reforms being implemented over the next month or two.
The UN is implementing administrative reforms, which includes a new Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system that will be effective from Nov. 1, the UNFCCC said on its website.
“During the upcoming transitional period we are anticipating unavoidable delays in the processing of administrative actions, including financial payments, which may impact on stakeholders’ own internal deadlines in the various stages of the CDM process,” it said.
“In this regard we kindly request stakeholders to take note of the above information and gauge their submissions to the secretariat accordingly to ensure sufficient lead time for processing in October and November.”
The UN’s ERP spans most of the organisation’s administrative and support functions, including finance and budget, supply chain and procurement, human resources, central support services, and programme and project management.
The UN earlier this year said that reform of the ERP is a “complex, high-value project aimed at modernizing a wide range of business processes and systems that are crucial to the efficient and effective management of the organisation.”
