    New purchase - South Korea's NongHyup Bank has purchased 5,254 domestically issued agricultural carbon credits sourced from 20 farms nationwide to offset its own emissions, it announced Monday. The deal followed an agreement between the lender, the national agriculture ministry, and the agricultural tech promotion agency to help farmers reduce the burden of generating carbon credits. The bank has previously acquired 9,664 credits through the system.

    Restoration efforts - China has planted and restored around 22,500 hectares of mangroves since 2020, including 11,600 ha of newly planted forests, surpassing the government's targets. This places China among the few countries worldwide where mangrove coverage is increasing, the Ministry of Natural Resources and the National Forestry and Grassland Administration said over the weekend. The two regulators are drafting a new mangrove conservation action plan for 2026-30.

    Solar buildout - PCG Global, a Singapore-based renewable energy infrastructure company, announced the close of its Pre-Series A financing round on Monday, led by GenZero. The amount raised was not disclosed. The funding will go towards building out the company’s renewable energy asset portfolio across Southeast Asia, Oceania, and the Middle East. PCG Global was established by Chinese solar energy developer PCG Power in 2025, and Singapore’s state-owned investment company Temasek serves as its largest shareholder.
