    New Zealand’s Green Party over the weekend published its latest climate change policies, hinting that forestry offsetting will be phased out of the ETS, as well as an end to free industrial allocation, while also putting a price on agricultural emissions.

    Restoration efforts - China has planted and restored around 22,500 hectares of mangroves since 2020, including 11,600 ha of newly planted forests, surpassing the government's targets. This places China among the few countries worldwide where mangrove coverage is increasing, the Ministry of Natural Resources and the National Forestry and Grassland Administration said over the weekend. The two regulators are drafting a new mangrove conservation action plan for 2026-30.
