To mark Carbon Pulse’s 10-year anniversary and to better serve our subscribers with more targeted content, we have expanded and segmented our news and intelligence into three specialised products.

Below is a list of FAQs to help readers understand our new offering.

1. What is changing?

On July 1, 2025, Carbon Pulse launched three separate subscription products:

  • Carbon Pulse Premium (equivalent to the previous Carbon Pulse paid subscription product)
  • Net Zero Pulse
  • Nature & Biodiversity Pulse

Each product has its own branding and pricing, and is hosted in separate areas of the Carbon Pulse website.

2. What is Carbon Pulse Premium?

Carbon Pulse Premium is the new name for the existing Carbon Pulse paid subscription. It remains our flagship product, covering:

  • Compliance carbon markets (EU ETS, California carbon market, China ETS, etc.)
  • Other GHG pricing (taxes, CBAMs, carbon tariffs, etc.)
  • Voluntary carbon market (VCM)
  • International climate negotiations and Article 6 of the Paris Agreement
  • Nature-based carbon solutions (NbS)
  • Climate-related government and corporate policy
  • All other aspects of the global net zero transition, including
    • CO2 removals
    • Aviation and CORSIA
    • Shipping
    • Transport and heating fuels
    • CCUS and industrial decarbonisation
    • Power and electrification
    • Green finance
    • Investment, reporting & disclosure
    • Litigation

From September 1, Carbon Pulse Premium subscriptions will require a minimum of three user licences per subscription. We have extended this deadline from August 1 by popular demand and to take into account the summer holiday period. However, please note that this is the final extension.

As of July 1, all existing Carbon Pulse subscriptions have been transitioned to Carbon Pulse Premium.

Subscription pricing for Carbon Pulse Premium, which is the same as the previous Carbon Pulse product, will be updated in Jan. 2026.

3. What is Net Zero Pulse?

Net Zero Pulse is a separate subscription product primarily focused on the corporate journey to net zero.

It forms part of Carbon Pulse Premium, but is available to readers who might have a slightly narrower interest.

Net Zero Pulse’s coverage includes:

  • Voluntary carbon markets (VCM)
  • International climate negotiations and Article 6 of the Paris Agreement
  • Nature-based carbon solutions (NbS)
  • Climate-related government and corporate policy
  • All other aspects of the global net zero transition (including the topics listed above)

Net Zero Pulse does not include coverage of compliance carbon markets (eg. EU ETS, UK ETS, California cap-and-trade, RGGI, NZ ETS, etc.), or other ‘mandatory’ GHG pricing instruments, including taxes and CBAMs.

Net Zero Pulse carries a lower price point than Carbon Pulse Premium, with single-user subscriptions available.

Net Zero Pulse subscriptions are available for purchase from July 1.

Discounts are available when adding Net Zero Pulse to an existing subscription product or package.

4. What is Nature & Biodiversity Pulse?

Having been available for free for 2.5 years, our nature & biodiversity content is now paywalled.

Nature & Biodiversity Pulse covers:

  • Nature & biodiversity credits, markets, and policy
  • Nature-based carbon solutions (NbS)
  • Emerging instruments like plastic credits and other nature-related certificates

Nature & Biodiversity Pulse carries a lower price point than both Carbon Pulse Premium and Net Zero Pulse, with single-user subscriptions available.

Nature & Biodiversity Pulse subscriptions are available for purchase from July 1.

Discounts are available when adding Nature & Biodiversity Pulse to an existing subscription product or package.

5. Can I still subscribe to Carbon Pulse as a single user?

You can subscribe to Carbon Pulse Premium as a single user until September 1, 2025 (this has been extended from the previous deadline of August 1).

As of July 1, all existing Carbon Pulse subscriptions have been transitioned to Carbon Pulse Premium.

Subscription orders for Carbon Pulse Premium placed after September 1 will as a general rule require a minimum of three logins.

Single-user subscriptions can be purchased for Net Zero Pulse and Nature & Biodiversity Pulse.

6. What if I currently have a single-user subscription?

Your single-user Carbon Pulse subscription is now a single-user Carbon Pulse Premium subscription.

Until September 1, you have the option of renewing your single-user Carbon Pulse Premium access for an additional 12 months, provided your current expiry date is before August 31, 2026.

After August 31, when your Carbon Pulse Premium subscription expires, you can either:

  • purchase a Carbon Pulse Premium subscription package with a minimum of three logins
  • downgrade to a single-user subscription of Net Zero Pulse or Nature & Biodiversity Pulse

7. Will I lose access to Carbon Pulse’s nature and biodiversity content under my current subscription?

Yes. Carbon Pulse’s nature and biodiversity content is now behind a separate paywall under our Nature & Biodiversity Pulse subscription product.

This content has been free to access for 2.5 years (rather than being part of the Carbon Pulse subscription).

To retain access to our nature and biodiversity content, you need to subscribe to Nature & Biodiversity Pulse, either as a standalone product or as an add-on to your Carbon Pulse Premium or Net Zero Pulse subscription.

Discounts are available when adding Nature & Biodiversity Pulse to an existing subscription product or package.

8. Are Carbon Pulse’s Terms & Conditions changing?

Yes, we are updating our Terms & Conditions, as well as our Privacy & Cookies Policy, in part to reflect these changes. Advance notice will be given in August 2025 and any updates will take effect thereafter.

These updates will not affect existing subscription agreements.

9. What do I need to do by September 1, 2025?

If you’re part of a multi-user Carbon Pulse subscription: No action is required.  Your access has been transitioned to Carbon Pulse Premium and your expiration date will remain the same.

If your company has a single-login access that expires by August 31, 2026: Contact [email protected] by September 1, 2025 to renew for up to 12 months based on the 2025 price and our legacy terms.

As of September 1, 2025, new subscribers can only buy subscriptions to Carbon Pulse Premium (3-user minimum), Net Zero Pulse (single-user access available), or Nature & Biodiversity Pulse (single-user access available).

10. Can I use a personal/non-professional email for subscriptions?

No. Subscriptions to paywalled products require a work/professional email address.

We are introducing new website features that require users to waive their rights under data protection and direct marketing rules. It is not possible for individuals to waive their rights, and any attempt to do so is not legally enforceable, so the only solution to this is prohibiting access and allowing only corporate users.

As such, free or temporary email domains such as Gmail, Hotmail, or Yahoo are not accepted for registration.

11. Can you tell me about the prices – and any potential discounts – for the new subscription products?

Each product has its own pricing, with details available on request.

  • Carbon Pulse Premium: Prices are the same as the current Carbon Pulse product, and will not be updated until Jan. 2026. Carbon Pulse Premium subscriptions require a minimum of three user licences per subscription.
  • Net Zero Pulse: Prices are lower than for Carbon Pulse Premium, with single-user subscriptions available. Discounts are available when adding Net Zero Pulse to an existing subscription product or package.
  • Nature & Biodiversity Pulse: Prices are lower than both Carbon Pulse Premium and Net Zero Pulse, with single-user subscriptions available. Discounts are available when adding Nature & Biodiversity Pulse to an existing subscription product or package.

Discounts are available for multi-product packages, multi-user access, or on a case-by-case basis.

Please email [email protected] for more information.

12. Are the CP Daily and Nature & Biodiversity Pulse newsletters still free?

Yes. CP Daily remains a free daily newsletter, excluding biodiversity content.

The twice-weekly Nature & Biodiversity Pulse newsletter also remains free.

However, you now need a paid subscription to read any our articles.

13. What if I have more questions?
