- Tue 01:55No Dili-dallying – Timor-Leste has received a financing package worth $85.7 mln for its first utility-scale solar and battery project from the Asian Development Bank, the Canadian government, the Japan International Cooperation Agency, and the World Bank. The project will see the construction of a 73.7-MW solar PV plant plus an 80.2-MWh battery, as well as transmission lines and ancillary facilities, displacing the use of diesel. In its third NDC, submitted to the UNFCCC in June, Timor-Leste stressed the importance of expanding renewable energy in the country, but also the need for financial support.
