Judge Denise Casper of the US District Court for the District of Massachusetts issued an order Tuesday reiterating that Renew Northeast and other regional wind and solar developers had standing to sue and were likely to succeed in their challenge. The developers are contesting five Interior Department and Army Corps of Engineers policies, including a memorandum requiring senior Interior officials to review wind and solar project authorisations, which they say are part of a broader federal effort to hinder renewable energy development while supporting oil, natural gas, and coal production.
