Carbon Pulse has grown its team of correspondents based in the Americas and Europe to bolster its reporting on carbon markets, the net zero transition, and nature and biodiversity.

We’re thrilled to welcome three outstanding professionals to our team, each bringing unique expertise and energy to our recently revamped product suite Carbon Pulse Premium, Net Zero Pulse, and Nature & Biodiversity Pulse.

Based in Canada, Stewart Mior joined us in October as a correspondent focused on nature-based projects in the voluntary carbon market. He brings a detailed eye to coverage of afforestation, reforestation, and revegetation (ARR) projects worldwide as the co-founder of Ground Truth, an online forest news service.

Stewart also has on-the-ground forest industry experience, having overseen the planting of over five million trees across Canada at Shakti Reforestation, now part of TELUS.

Also based in Canada, Daniel Rodriguez joined us in October as a correspondent to cover North American compliance carbon markets. Daniel brings experience covering commodity markets at S&P Global, IHS Markit, and Dow Jones. He has also reported on clean energy policy as a foreign correspondent based in Mexico.

Meanwhile, in the UK, Cameron Murdoch joined our London team in late August as an environmental markets correspondent and data journalist. He will help develop new data visualisation content, assist in covering European compliance carbon markets and the VCM, and help manage our emerging suite of data portals (e.g. on Paris Article 6 and NDCs).

Cameron was previously an economist at the UK civil service for five years. Through this, he worked on no-deal Brexit planning, the Russia-Ukraine impact on energy costs, green finance, and long-term climate modelling.

Carbon Pulse is also excited to announce that Sergio Colombo has been promoted to Editor at Nature & Biodiversity Pulse, and will be working alongside Director and Co-Founder Stian Reklev to manage a growing team of dedicated nature & biodiversity reporters.

Based in Milan, Sergio has 13 years of experience as a reporter and editor in the UK and Italy, with a consistent focus on nature, energy, and climate.

Finally, Chris Ward, who joined us as an environmental markets correspondent in January, has pivoted to a business development role. They are now working closely with Chief Strategy Officer Sonja van Renssen to develop a series of data partnerships, and other outreach and commercial activities. Stay tuned!

With COP30 only just past, Carbon Pulse also wants to congratulate all its editors and reporters – on the ground and back home – for their excellent work over two intense weeks.

“We pride ourselves on our methodical and meticulous COP coverage,” said Director and Co-Founder Mike Szabo, who was also in Belem. “The team did an absolutely stellar job. We filed around 250 articles, easily the most of any news outlet covering the event.”

Carbon Pulse sent a 13-strong team to COP30, with representation from across its regional teams in EMEA, Americas, and APAC. See our COP30 coverage here.
