European carbon prices broke higher on Monday after a multi-week resistance target snapped and the market appeared to confirm that the European Commission's EU ETS reform proposals had been broadly priced in ahead of the announcement, with UK carbon also up by over 5%, while gas locked in gains despite falling back from a three-month high seen in overnight trading as Iran and the US continued strikes.
