- Thu 22:35Blustery boost - Canada’s renewable electricity capacity is poised to expand through 2030, with an analysis released Wednesday from the Canada Energy Regulator (CER) showing wind power driving roughly 70% of planned additions. The CER said that more than 8,700 MW of new renewable capacity is expected nationwide, led by 6,206 MW of wind, followed by solar and hydro. Quebec, Alberta, and British Columbia are forecast to account for most of this growth, while Indigenous-owned or partnered projects continue to increase across regions.
