European carbon prices consolidated on Thursday after prices hit a six-day high amid more aggressive buying after the daily auction saw the strongest bidding in six weeks, before easing off and handing back most of the gains as traders appeared to be waiting for next week's end of the 90-day grace period ahead of possible US tariffs on EU goods.
