The EU's emissions trading registry is to be suspended for 24 hours at the end of September to facilitate a software upgrade, the European Commission announced on Wednesday.

The EU’s emissions trading registry is to be suspended for 24 hours at the end of September to facilitate a software upgrade, the European Commission announced on Wednesday.

The Union Registry, the online trading hub for the EU ETS, will be closed for transactions from 0800 CEST (0600 GMT) on Sep. 30 to 0800 CEST on Oct. 1, the Commission said in a note on its website.

“In the unlikely event of any changes to the schedule of the Union Registry downtime, updated information will be communicated on this website.”
