Dong Energy gets earnings boost after €52m CO2 dispute settlement

Danish utility Dong Energy reported a 6% y/y increase in EBITDA in H1, as its earnings were boosted by the settlement of a dispute over carbon allowances dating back to 2005, it said in first-half results.

Dong’s EBITDA was DKK 10.4 billion (€1.4bn) in H1 2015 compared with DKK 9.8 billion in H1 2014.

This figure was boosted by DKK 384 million (€51.5m) due to the settlement of a dispute involving payments made by an electricity buyer for additional CO2 costs, the results said.
