Canada’s Newfoundland and Labrador introduces carbon pricing bill

Newfoundland and Labrador's (NL) government on Tuesday unveiled legislation to put a price on industrial carbon emissions and to create a fund to invest in low-carbon technologies in the Canadian province.

(Corrects to clarify that proposal applies only to onshore industry, which accounts for around a fifth of NL’s total GHG emissions)
