We are engaged with a global sustainability consultancy who have a strong presence within climate change for both public and private sector projects, offering a wide range of sustainability solutions. The organisation operates in circa 30 countries with a strong reputation as a consultancy tackling global sustainability challenges. Furthermore, they are one of the leading suppliers of carbon credits they work with large multinationals and currently have circa 200 carbon related projects worldwide.
Due to internal restructure they are seeking to appoint a senior professional who sits within the Project Portfolio Management team, ideally based out of the London offices but open to other locations internationally. The role Head of Projects is a senior position within the team reporting to the Director of Project Management. In addition, there are four direct reports for this role three of which are regional head of departments.
The project management team is responsible for managing all projects and relevant certificates including proposals, optimising contracts and they are experts in carbon credits. The Head of Projects will be responsible for taking the lead on this, working with the director overseeing the planning of upcoming verifications and managing deliveries. You will take the lead on existing projects and large deals as well as generating new business. There will be international travel involved with this role, at least once or twice a month. This includes Europe, East Asia and Latin America.
The successful candidate must be an expert within this field although commercial experience is desirable it is not essential as the technical expertise.
- Strong understanding of carbon standards, relevant regulative bodies and the project cycle.
