In the area of Sustainable Supply Chains, we are particularly working with companies with agricultural supply chains in the global south, where we support clients to take concrete action in order to manage and mitigate their impact on climate, water and forest resources. Exemplary assignments include development of supply chain strategies in order to reduce carbon emissions, improve water stewardship or management of insetting project portfolios. Within this context we are currently looking for an Expert to join the team.

Expert Sustainable Supply Chain (80-100%)

based in London or Stockholm

With renowned track record for implementing sustainability activities in more than 25 countries and extensive experience with consultancy services, South Pole Group (SPG) is well positioned to tackle global sustainability challenges, today and tomorrow. In the area of Sustainable Supply Chains, we are particularly working with companies with agricultural supply chains in the global south, where we support clients to take concrete action in order to manage and mitigate their impact on climate, water and forest resources. Exemplary assignments include development of supply chain strategies in order to reduce carbon emissions, improve water stewardship or management of insetting project portfolios. Within this context we are currently looking for an Expert to join the team.

Tasks and responsibilities

Leading teams of dedicated experts

  • Managing a portfolio of consulting and project engagements on sustainable supply chains
  • Plan projects and assign project teams with necessary know-how and skill set to ensure the most efficient and highest quality implementation of our mandates
  • Supervise and guide the project teams in the implementation of our mandates

Supporting our key account management team in business development

  • Shape proposals with the responsible key account managers and customers
  • Provide customers with proposals that match their needs and our capabilities

Help to shape SPG’s strategy in the field of Sustainable Supply Chains

  • Enrich and enlarge SPG’s service offering, particularly for corporate clients
  • Ensure information exchange and know-how transfer, mentor and train our consultants

Your profile

  • A university degree, ideally in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering, Agronomy or related disciplines
  • At least 7 years of relevant work experience in consultancy, project management and business development in the corporate sector
  • Experience in international team management
  • Sound understanding of environmental sustainability challenges in multinational companies, especially with the integration of sustainability in corporate business supply chains
  • Specific experience in sustainability and corporate supply chain risks with particular focus on climate, water and forests in agricultural supply chains
  • Experience in monitoring and quantification of environmental impacts along the supply chain on climate, water and forests
  • Commercial skills and good business sense to be able to identify and seize opportunities in a challenging and competitive market environment
  • Practical experience with agricultural supply chains in tropical countries and project development / program management is desirable
  • Proven knowledge and network in the relevant fields
  • Excellent oral and written skills in English
  • Professional proficiency in one of the following languages is of advantage: Spanish, German, Swedish or French
